Reflection
The qualities
you’re becoming.
Before you write affirmations, you have to know what you’re affirming. Identity precedes language. Then language reinforces identity. The reflection comes first.
What qualities do I want to embody?
Sit with these before you write. Don’t pick the obvious answers — pick the true ones.
- Who am I when I’m at my best?
- Who do I want to be when no one’s watching?
- What words would describe the version of me I’m growing into?
A note: The qualities you list don’t have to feel true today. They have to feel true about who you’re becoming. Affirmations don’t lie about the present — they invite the present forward. The gap is the work.
