Honesty is the first chapter in the book of wisdom.
The journey’s name comes from this. Everything else — confidence, discipline, peace — is built on whether you’re willing to see clearly first.
Just because your brain identifies you as a specific archetype of person, doesn’t mean you have to believe it.
On truth and consequence
The truth can sound accusatory if it’s right. That doesn’t make it less true.
This is why we avoid honest friends and keep the ones who only agree. The comfortable path isn’t the correct one.
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as self-evident.
