Your Mind 2/8
The Room Inside Your Head
You can’t control the weather. You can control the room you wait it out in. This is how you build a better room.
Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future.
Your mind isn’t a fact. It’s a thing you tend to. A garden, a fire, a household. And like any of those, what you water, what you feed, what you let in the door — that’s what grows.
You can alter your reality by believing something new about yourself. That’s not magical thinking. It’s neuroscience, attention, and rehearsal. Every thought you let through unchallenged is a brick in whatever room you’ll wake up in tomorrow.
If you’re living in your past, it doesn’t necessarily reflect what’s actually happening right now. The version of you that took those hits is not the version of you reading this. You’re allowed to update the file.
Be with the space you’re in. Just for a moment.
- What do you hear?
- What do you see, right at the edge of your vision?
- What needs your attention — even something small?
- Is there a conversation that’s been waiting?
